Abstract

"Business Maine: Central & Western" piece briefly reporting that U.S. Department of Labor recently said it would give the state $9.3 million, under the federal Trade Adjustment Assistance program, to help provide health insurance for unemployed workers. The money is provided to help workers who have lost their jobs due to foreign competition. About 2,800 unemployed Maine workers are eligible to receive tax credits to pay for 65 percent of their health insurance costs.
