Abstract

Naoto Inoue, CEO of Arundel-based Solar Market, and his colleague, Craig Carni of California-based Two Seas Metalworks Inc., partnered to develop an affordable and convenient solar energy generating appliance, Blue Link 480. The factory-assembled unit retails for less than $4,400 and starts working once it is plugged in. The average Maine customer would take about 37 years to recoup the cost of the Blue Link, which could generate about 15 percent of an average household's electrical needs. Its major appeal is environmental.
