Abstract

"Focus on Professional Services" piece on the increasing number of Maine companies that retain independent consultants to fulfill ongoing strategic and tactical functions. Gilbert Bluthley of BEK Inc. in Brunswick uses Herodes Financial of Portland, which has helped him build up his cash-flow and set his financial course; Suzanne Williams-Lindgren of Spar Cove Consulting in Freeport pays Judi Jones of InfoHarbor in Freeport to act as a virtual administrative assistant. The online travel service, expedia.com, turned to Portland-based ClearPoint to help control its health insurance costs. ClearPoint worked with Health Economy LLC of Cape Elizabeth.
