Abstract
"Capitol Update" piece on a new federal provision tucked into the Omnibus Appropriations bill, which will allow the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to have control over permits for liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, effectively superceding state and local officials. Groups opposing the siting of an LNG facility will have several opportunities to challenge permits and licenses from the federal agencies that will be involved.
