Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a proposal in the governor's budget to ask seasonal landlords to collect the state's 7 percent meals and lodging tax from their renters. These operations are considered businesses for tax purposes and could contribute upwards of $10 million to the state's coffers, but the proposal might be strongly resisted.
