Abstract

"Business Maine: Statewide" piece reporting that rising oil prices are compromising the state's ability to maintain roads. The Maine Department of Transportation announced this month that high oil prices would force it to scale back a number of high way paving projects this summer. High oil prices make it more expensive to operate diesel-powered heavy machinery. Oil is also a main ingredient in asphalt.
