Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece reporting that Biddeford-based Pepperell Bank & Trust recently said it was taking steps to change its lending policies and improve its financial position in response to an order from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC). George Giovanis, CEO of Pepperell, said the bank already has accomplished many of the requirements of the order, and that the FDIC's claims about the bank's lack of capital reserves are misleading.
