Abstract

"Business Maine: Midcoast & Downeast" piece reporting that Norm Ledwin, CEO of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS), recently announced his retirement from the organization he was instrumental in building. Ledwin has developed the Bangor-based nonprofit into a system that includes seven member hospitals and numerous health care facilities in nine counties. Ledwin's legacy will include his efforts at keeping EMHS fiscally stable, the creation of LifeFlight of Maine, and the spread of the organization's clinical activities to rural areas. EMHS was also a collaborator in the recent establishment of the Maine Institute for Human Genetics and Health in Brewer.
