Abstract

"Building & real estate" special section piece on how a wave of national real estate firm consolidations is affecting Maine's brokerages by broadening their services and increasing their revenues. Smaller independent firms say real estate in southern Maine will remain a local business, but predictions are that the larger brokerages, such as CB Richard Ellis/The Boulos Company and Coldwell Banker Residential, will do better in metro areas and might eventually become the industry standard.
