Abstract

"Focus on Energy" piece on how high fuel and heating oil costs are forcing business owners like John Reny, of Newcastle-based Renys discount stores, to consider passing on costs to customers. Kelly Moore, president of R.C. Moore, a Scarborough logistics company that carries goods for Maine companies, has seen huge increases in fuel costs for his trucks. Bob Morse, general manager of Brewer-based Getchell Bros., says fuel costs have risen 30 percent since last year. Costs for raw materials have also increased. Morse is asking customers to make additional storage space available so he can deliver more products at once.
