Abstract
Sweetser Children's Services is renovating the 15,000-square-foot Gateway Building off St. John Street in Portland into a Crisis Stabilization Unit and Outpatient Assessment Clinic. Sweetser plans to raise the last $500,000 it needs by March 1, 1997. It will be based on a similar facility Sweester operates in Saco, which serves children averaging about 12 years old who are having psychiatric emergencies, housing them for, on average, 5.8 days.
