Abstract
Article on stormwater runoff in Maine, with a focus on Rockland-based Ferraiolo Construction. In September, the Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) in Brunswick filed notice of its intent to sue Ferraiolo Construction over what the CLF alleged was violation of the federal laws for stormwater maintenance outlined in the Clean Water Act. Steve Hinchman, a lawyer for the CLF, said the foundation got involved because of the disparity between law and enforcement in the stormwater arena. John Ferraiolo, owner of Ferraiolo Construction, said it was unaware of the rules governing stormwater until it received legal papers from the CLF. With a related article on Scarborough-based Vortechnics, a stormwater management company which merged with an Oregon firm earlier this year to become Stormwater 360.
