Abstract

The United States Congress appropriated $1 million to build a new Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine; $1 million to to improve and maintain the Muskie Archives at Bates College; and $1 million to endow the Muskie environmental award. Muskie Institute Director Richard Barringer credits the support of Senator William Cohen for the grants.
