Abstract
"LNG Watch" piece reporting that Quoddy Bay LLC updated its plans for an LNG terminal at Split Rock, near Eastport. Quoddy Bay told the Sunrise County Economic Council in Machias that the plant could produce, at the low end, 100 tons of noxious emissions per year, and revised the project's $500 million price tag to $700 million. In other LNG news, some members of the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point plan to sue the U.S. Department of the Interior, saying the development of an LNG facility would endanger the whale population in Passamaquoddy Bay.
