Abstract

Article on Maine's water policy, pointing out that many are concerned that water quality and quantity will become growing issues. Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) officials recently proposed new rules to regulate water levels in lakes, streams and other surface water sources. David Courtemanch of the DEP says that increased irrigation and development put more demand on the public water supply.
