Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Ian McLean, a biology and marine biology teacher at Deering High School in Portland, who runs a diving business, Underwater Services, from mid-May to mid-October. Much of his work is cleaning the unpainted hulls of racing boats and setting mooring chains. He works two days a week and brings in about $15,000 to supplement his teacher's salary.
