Abstract
"Focus: Building & Real Estate" piece on Camp Rangeley, a proposed camp on Round Pond in Rangeley that has sparked debate over how the area should be developed. Hermie Glick, owner of 372 acres on the pond, wants to develop 41 of those acres into a camp that could enroll 400 children. Rangeley residents Jim Proctor and Linda Robertson, members of the Rangeley Crossroads Coalition, worry that unchecked development in the area could turn Round Pond into a crowded attraction like Sebago Lake. With additional comments by Allison Hagerstrom, executive director of the Farmington-based Greater Franklin Development Corp., and Robert Silvia, chair of the Rangeley planning board.
