Abstract
Article on South Paris-based Enterprise Maine, which recently scaled back its economic development mission. Enterprise Maine has provided a wide range of services to an area that includes 37 towns, but now will concentrate of key services and narrow its geographic base to just eight towns. Brett Doney, outgoing president, said the organization will focus on Oxford Hills, including efforts to get Route 26 improved to a modern road and continued marketing of the Oxford Hills Business Park and a proposed office park for Norway. Doney criticized what he sees as a statewide lack of support for economic development. With comments by James Delamater, president of Northeast Bank in Lewiston; Mitchell Berkowitz, town manager for Bridgton; and David Casco, town manager in Casco.
