Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Ellen Golden, senior vice president of development at Wiscasset-based Coastal Enterprises Inc. (CEI). CEI recently published "Telling Their Stories: Women Business Owners in Western Maine," to illustrate its 2001 study that showed women-owned companies in Maine generated $3.2 billion in sales. Golden hopes the publication will help persuade more women to go into business, especially in a region like western Maine that has lost a significant number of manufacturing jobs.
