Abstract
"Focus: Health Care" piece on nurse attorneys who combine their experience in patient care with a law degree. Alison Mynick, one of the 20 or so nurse attorneys working in Maine, feels she can help more patients through her legal work by sending a message to the insurance companies that people deserve to be treated fairly. With comments by nurse attorneys Marilyn Westerfield, Myra Broadway, and Janet Michael. With a related article on the University of Southern Maine's (USM) dual-degree master's program in business administration and nursing. Marjorie Lawson, coordinator of graduate nursing programs at USM, said the program has had zero enrollment since its inception in 2002.
