Abstract

"Focus: Lewiston-Auburn" piece estimating that at least 15 new restaurants have opened in the area in recent years, bringing a diversity of dining options previously unavailable. Paul Landry, who last year opened Fishbones American Grill in Lewiston's Bates Mill Complex, said a true culinary scene is beginning to be established. Jim Simones, owner of Simones' hot dog stand in Lewiston, installed wireless Internet to cater to a growing number of professionals downtown. Meanwhile Paul Badeau, marketing director of the Lewiston-Auburn Economic Growth Council, believes an abundance of restaurants will go hand-in-hand with developing more arts, entertainment, and retail opportunities. With additional comments by Jules Patry, owner of Da Vinci's restaurant; and Ed Stebbins, co-owner of Gritty McDuff's.
