Abstract

"Focus: Lewiston-Auburn" piece on Lewiston-based VIP Parts, Tires and Service, which operates 53 auto parts and service stores in Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. John Quirk, president and CEO, said the company has saturated the Maine market and is now looking to move more heavily into markets out of state. Since Quirk acquired the company in 2001 from the Auger family, he has revamped its hiring and employee training practices, and introduced new technology to help manage warehouse shipments.
