    Abstract

    "Business Maine: Northern" piece on Old Town-based Red Shield Environmental LLC, which recently announced plans to begin production ethanol later this year under the name RSE Pulp and Chemical. Edward Paslawski, chairman of Red Shield, said the plant would restart pulp operations at the former Georgia-Pacific mill in Old Town, and produce ethanol in partnership with the University of Maine. Red Shield hopes to eventually rehire roughly 100 of the 450 former G-P employees who lost their jobs when the mill shut down.
