    Abstract

    Five related articles on charitable giving in Maine. Most charitable donations in Maine come from individuals, yet Maine ranks 49th of the 50 states in individual giving. Many large corporations have strategic giving campaigns, and a few wealthy "deep pockets" have made a big difference. The new priorities for charitable giving focus on social needs, although Maine non-profits are facing increased challenges from government cutbacks.
