Abstract

"Focus on Transportation & Trade" piece on the growth of Maine's export market to China, lead by pulp and paper products. Exports to China hit $150 million last year, a 200 percent increase over the last four years. Several Maine companies, including members of the boatbuilding industry, have traveled to and made connections in China, a necessary first step to doing business there; and the Maine International Trade Center has supported trade missions to China. With a list of the top 10 Maine exports to China and a graph of the export market's growth.
