Abstract

"Business Maine" piece on Working Together, a networking group for business owners to ask each other questions about hiring workers with disabilities ranging from military injury to mental retardation. Created by the University of Southern Maine's Muskie School of Public Service, the group currently has about 10 Maine businesses as members. Becky Shepard, owner of Wild Oats Bakery in Brunswick, has hired 25 people with disabilities since she opened her bakery in 1991.
