Abstract

"Focus: Energy & Utilities" commentary piece by Kurt Adams, chairman of the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC). In August, the PUC filed a brief in federal court challenging a "capacity" change on energy rates that could take $300 million out of Maine elecriticty consumers over the next four years. Though energy costs in the state are high, Maine pays less than the regional average because we generate more power than we need.
