Abstract
Lewiston-based Oxford Networks recently announced plans to finish a $4 million network upgrade in the Bangor area that will bring fiber optic technology directly to companies in a 34.5-mile area. Oxford Networks decided to deliver fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) service to Bangor and Brewer after being encouraged by the cities' growth. So far, the state's business community has lagged in the high-speed Internet arena. Oxford Networks is the state's leader in FTTP, rolling out access in Lewiston, Auburn, Norway and Paris. With comments by Phil Lindley, head of the ConnectMe Authority; and Matt Jancovic, marketing director for Oxford Networks.
