Abstract
The booming popularity of California wines may lead to a shortage for Maine distributors of the most popular brands. For now, retailers like Model Foods and the Whip and Spoon are benefitting from the tight supply, which is driving up prices. Although Merlots are becoming popular, both restaurants and supermarkets report that Cabernet and Chardonnay remain best-sellers.
