Abstract

"Focus on Professional Services" piece on a conversation with attorney Eric Altholz of Verrill Dana on the advantages and disadvantages of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). ESOPs are relatively rare in Maine, partly because of the expense and complexity of establishing them, and at most there are 30 Maine companies that use the plans. With a sampling of Maine companies with ESOPs and the year those plans were established.
