Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Tarren Bragdon, the new CEO of the Maine Heritage Policy Center (MHPC), a conservative think tank in Portland that advocates free market public policies in health care, education and the economy. Bragdon, 32, hopes that a new outreach program will expand MHPC's audience and boost its visibility. He is also working on a revamped website offering multimedia content. The MHPC is in the midst of developing the Maine Government Integrity Project, an online database of state contracts and grants that will allow citizens to see how the state spends its money. Bragdon's policy focus primarily lies in health care reform.
