Abstract
"Business Maine: Northern" piece reporting that McCain Foods' factory in Easton was cited as the state's largest source of toxic emissions, according to a report from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Maine's industrial tenants released roughly 10. 6million pounds of pollution in 2006 - an 8.4 percent drop from 2005. Florenceville, N.B.-based McCain Foods' factory released 2.3 million pounds in 2006. Meanwhile, Verso Paper's mill in Jay, NewPage Corp.'s mill in Rumford, Sappi Fine Paper North America's mill in in Skowhegan and the Domtar mill in Baileyville rounded off the top five sources of emissions.
