Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Maine Preservation Executive Director Greg Paxton, 58. A New Jersey native, he helped push a bill increasing Maine's historic rehabilitation tax credit through the Legislature even before he started the job. He left his position as head of The Georgia Trust in Atlanta, the country's second largest statewide nonprofit preservation organization. He vacations in East Boothbay and was drawn to Maine and the Portland-based nonprofit. He aims to start a revolving fund to purchase and protect historic buildings in Maine.
