Abstract

A look at Maine's wedding industry and its growing attraction as a wedding destination for couples, many from out of state. Julie Draper, an Eliot-based wedding officiant, tells couples planning coastal Maine weddings not to be surprised by their small list of "regrets." A conservative estimate puts wedding spending at $100 million in Maine, spending that appears to be largely recession-proof.
