Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on efforts by Maine's congressional delegation to help spur small businesses to create more jobs. Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), supports tax incentives to companies to help them expand, and has sponsored a measure that would encourage small firms to offer health insurance by allowing them to fully deduct the cost of the plan. Rep. Mike Michaud (D-Maine) serves on the House Small Business Committee that recently recommended federal tax code changes aimed at encouraging job creation.
