The five largest, in order, are: Spain-based Iberdrola SA's acquisition of Energy East Corp. of New Gloucester; South Portland-based Fairchild Semiconductor's acquisition of Taiwan-based System General Corp.; VT-based Chittenden Corp.'s acquisition of Bangor-based Merrill Merchants Bancshares Inc.; Camden National Corp.'s acquisition of Ellsworth-based Union Bankshares Co.; and South Portland-based Wright Express Corp.'s acquisition of KY-based TelaPoint Inc.
