Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Chris Lynch, founder of Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty, a luxury real estate brokerage in Portland. Despite the depressed real estate market, his company posted a 38 percent increase in revenues last year, with an average property list price of $900,000. A former investment banker, Lynch launched the firm with Bob Stevens when Stevens' employer, Town & Shore Associates, gave up its affiliation with Sotheby's in 2005. With Lynch as CEO, the company has grown to claim 20 percent of the luxury market share in Maine. With a list of the top performers in Maine's luxury real estate market, based on 2008 sales.
