Abstract

Maine ranks fourth in the nation in the number of breweries per capita. The Maine Brewers' Guild, in partnership with the Maine Restaurant Association, has launched the Maine Beer Trail, highlighting 14 craft breweries from Eliot to Bar Harbor to The Forks. With a look at the genesis of Maine's brewing heritage, which traces back to the founding of the D.L. Geary Brewing Co. in Portland, in the mid-1980s. Other such trails in Maine spotlight wine, birding, art museums, fiber arts, the ice age, and golf.
