Abstract

National Semiconductor denied rumors that it would scale back expansion in South Portland. A spokeswoman said that a New York Times article about falling stock prices, coupled with confusion over National Semiconductor's production goals, led to misunderstanding. The South Portland facility is on schedule to begin production in late fall.
