Abstract
Todd Morrisette, founder of Scarborough-based DeadHead Lumber, uses his Aqua-logger pontoon boat to salvage sunken logs or "deadheads" from Moosehead Lake--logs that were once floated from Moosehead's Sugar Island to a mill on the lake. Since 1999, submerged logs have had to be purchased from the state. With details on Morrisette's market; his product, much of which is used for flooring; and the lengthy permitting process required to do such salvage work.
