"New Ventures" piece on Kevin Roper, co-owner with his father Gar Roper of VENUE Music Bar & Bistro in Freeport. Though the recession has dampened business, VENUE's high-quality sound system is praised by musicians. The Ropers wanted to create a music venue in Freeport sophisticated enough so that people wouldn't have to drive to Portland.
