Abstract

Because Maine's Workers' Compensation Board had not set a fee schedule for hospital costs during the past 10 years, businesses hit with high fees have been pressuring for the adoption of a schedule. A comp rule-making group wrote a draft proposal last year that was aired before the full board two weeks ago. Questions remain about striking a balance that works for both patients and businesses.
