Abstract

"Focus on Down East Region" piece. With Downeast LNG and Calais LNG awaiting approval, Maine and Canadian officials are battling over whether tankers en route to liquefied natural gas terminals in Maine can pass through Canadian waters. Chances that both projects will be built are slim. Canada's interest in the proposed energy corridor between Maine and New Brunswick could be what breaks the stalemate between the two countries.
