Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a predicted 7 percent decrease in workers' compensation insurance rates next year for Maine employers, thanks to improved worker safety. Despite the decrease, the costs of the overall workers' comp system are increasing. With this reduction, there will be a 50 percent overall reduction in premiums since the worker's comp system was reformed in 1993.
