Abstract

"Working knowledge: exploring the needs of four key industries and how to meet them--Part IV of VI," with a focus on Maine's tourism industry. Greg Dugal, director of the Maine Innkeepers Association, says in 30 years he has never seen the industry as depressed as it was last year, but he believes it will rebound. To make the comeback, Maine needs to focus on product development, extending the seasons, and smarter marketing. Kathryn Weir, owner of the Cliff House in York, believes capitalizing on Maine's natural resources is the key to reviving the industry. With a graph of inland and coastal restaurant and lodging sales from 2004-2009.
