Abstract

A recent "Business of Sports" forum sponsored by the University of Southern Maine in Portland concluded that the $1.8 billion that the sports industry brings to Maine annually could be increased if the state had a sports commission to recruit events. Included are details of revenue generated by the sports industry and a sample of revenue from Maine sports events.
