Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a study of the nation's roads and bridges that shows Maine has dropped from 15th best in 2000 to 32nd in 2008. The state tied for first for the condition of both its rural and urban interstate highways and moved from 43rd to 36th in bridge deficiency and from 10th to fifth in the cost of administration of the Department of Transportation. The report was conducted by the Hartgen Group for the Reason Foundation.
