Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on deficiencies in broadband access for Maine's small businesses and rural residents, which lawmakers have been trying to address through the ConnectMe Authority. Mount Desert Island is the largest single destination point for tourists, but the inability to use smart phones, iPads, and other devices might influence some visitors not to return.
