Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Maine's Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC). The new code will supersede existing municipal building codes and impose standards in communities where there are none. In an interview, Dick Dolby, head of the new Bureau of Building Codes and Standards, discusses the benefits of having a uniform code and how it will be implemented by municipalities and contractors.
