Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece about the passage of the $6.1 million two-year state budget. Governor Paul LePage signed the bill but said that lawmakers only did "half the job" and wants changes made during the January session. Both Republican and Democrat legislative leaders said that the budget was a compromise and that while no one is completely happy with the result, the budget does include tax cuts and pension reform but not at levels desired by the governor.
